28 lost adventurers must fight for their lives after their only lifeline is destroyed in the most uninhabitable place on Earth – Antarctica. ‘Shackleton - The Greatest Story of Survival’ reveals the true story of polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and the crew of the Endurance, told by the only man ever to have repeated their incredible feat - explorer and adventurer Tim Jarvis. Following in the beset crew’s footsteps, Tim reveals the enduring legacy of Shackleton’s crisis leadership in the face of impossible odds - a lesson more relevant to us now than ever before.

The Making of Shackleton

Armed with an enormous amount of research and first hand accounts, the directors carefully planned how to bring this historical tale to IMAX® screens.
Most of the crew had visited the desolate landscape on previous productions, and although they were well prepared, the adversities of Antarctica constantly threatened.
Through of stormy seas, and torturous temperatures, the filmmakers were driven by their obligation to represent the heroic accomplishments of Shackleton and crew with historical accuracy and engaging storytelling.

The IMAX format is a natural fit for the Shackleton story – the beauty and scale of Antarctica comes alive on the giant screen and brings this amazing story to life for an entirely new generation. The themes the film supports – passion, leadership, resilience, problem-solving and more – are equally as relevant and important to today’s youth as they were in 1913 to Shackleton and his men

- Co-Director Casper Mazzotti

Shackleton’s story is one of failure reframed into success. Whether you’re attempting to recreate a 100-year-old polar expedition, turn the tide of the climate crisis, or simply find a way to navigate this modern world successfully, Shackleton’s leadership offers legitimate means to achieve the impossible
